Club Meeting -- Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano

The speaker will be Dawn Manley, Community Partnerships Specialist and Food & Fund Drive Coordinator, Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. 
 
The presentation title is "Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano – Current Work in the Community and How To Get Involved"
 
Dawn will provide a high level overview of the Food Bank’s function and work in the community, along with opportunities for organizations and individuals to support our work.

Club Meeting -- Saint Mary's College Museum of Art
May 07, 2026 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM
The speaker will be Lauren MacDonald, Dean of the Library and Academic Resources and Executive Director of the Museum of Art at Saint Mary’s College of California (SMCMoA), who will give a  presentation entitled “Saint Mary’s College Museum of Art, William Keith and the California Landscape Collection,” in which she (a) traces the history and significance of SMCMoA, the only institution in Contra Costa County which is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, and (b) examines its distinguished collection of works by Mr. Keith, one of California’s most celebrated landscape painters, including an exploration of the collection’s historical importance, its role in preserving California’s artistic heritage, and SMCMoA’s ongoing commitment to stewarding these works.

Club Meeting -- Moraga's July 4th Fireworks
May 14, 2026 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM
The speaker will be Pat Dyas, representing Pyro Spectaculars, the company which puts on Moraga’s July 4th fireworks shows, who will present a talk entitled “Fireworks From Behind the Scene,” which will include (a) general fireworks information and (b) some specific information on how they produce the Moraga fireworks.

Club Meeting -- "2026 Changing Voting Landscapes"
May 21, 2026 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM
 
The speaker will be Janet Hoy, member of League of Women Voters, Diablo Valley (LWVDV), who will give a talk titled “2026 Changing Voting Landscapes."  
 
Our US electoral system is changing due to Supreme Court decisions, presidential executive orders, and state and county laws.  Come and learn about how elections happen in our country  from the federal, state and county levels, and what to expect from these most recent or pending laws and court decisions.

Contra Costa County District 2 Supervisor Candace Andersen will be providing an update on the County in general, and her activities in particular.

The Kiwanis Club of Moraga Valley donates money and volunteers time to support local organizations that help children and families.  The club's major fundraisers each year are the selling of See's Candy during the holiday season and supporting the Town's July 4th and Pear & Wine Festival events.
