Uri Eliahu, President of ENGEO Geotechnical Consultants, will give a talk titled "Geologic Hazard Abatement Districts (GHADs), an Introduction and Their Importance to California Communities, Including Moraga and Orinda."
ENGEO manages Moraga's Geologic Hazard Abatement District (GHAD). The GHAD is a special district of permanent open space within the town but is managed independently. Moraga's GHAD currently totals about 150 acres and is expected to grow to about 500 acres over the next few years. GHAD's are governed by California law and number 50 across the state.
